CRITICAL EDGE ALLIANCE CONFERENCE CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS GLOBAL VOICES PODCAST
CEA CONFERENCE
The fifth conference of the Critical Edge Alliance will take place at Paris 8 University (www.univ-paris8.fr) on January 26-28, 2022. This year’s conference theme is:
" Acting in Higher Education in Response to Climate Change "
Context:
Echoing the increasingly numerous mobilizations around the world, and in connection with what the COVID pandemic situation has revealed to us about the urgency of taking the ecological issues seriously, the conference will offer an opportunity to rethink the impact of climate change and its implications, in order to prepare for upcoming global challenges. How sustainable are our campuses? How can the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts contribute to the fight against climate change? What can we do as students, staff and faculty members, together and individually? These are some of the questions that the conference is aiming to address from different angles: training, research, interactions with our surroundings and local communities, innovative technologies, inclusion, international exchanges, and management. The conference is therefore an invitation to go beyond disciplinary and institutional silos. Everyone interested in the theme of higher education and climate change are encouraged to participate.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
This is an open call for submissions from faculty members, administrative staff, students, as well as other stakeholders (community actors, NGOs, government entitites, etc.). We also welcome submissions from people who are not connected to a Critical Edge Alliance institution, but are interested in the theme as well as alternative and experimental approaches to higher education. NB: Due to the health context, the conference will be held in hybrid format and will combine online and / or face-to-face events. You can propose :
1. A paper 2. A thematic panel 3. A workshop 4. An artistic production or expression
We encourage panels and workshops that aim to bring together participants from as many countries and institutions of higher education as possible. We may therefore ask organizers to accept
additional co-organizers and speakers. Please submit your proposals no later than October 31, 2021 by filling the forms accessible via the following links:
Selected propositions will be announced by December 1st, 2021at the latest.
